The IRGC announced the destruction of the Israeli F-16 in the skies over Iran

The air defense systems of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) shot down an Israeli F-16 fighter jet in the central part of Iran. This was announced on March 21 by the IRGC press service.

"The air defense forces of the IRGC aerospace Forces <...> shot down a third enemy F-16 military aircraft belonging to the Israeli army in the sky over the central regions of the country," the IRGC said in a statement, quoted by IRIB.

The Iranian ministry noted that since the start of hostilities on February 28, the air defense forces have destroyed about 200 enemy aircraft, including drones, cruise missiles, refueling aircraft and fighter jets.

Some of the complexes continue to operate and attack targets, despite claims of their destruction.

On March 19, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced the elimination of the Majid air defense system of the American F-35 Lightning II fighter. The military added that the attack on the plane took place in the central part of Iran. With a high degree of probability, the aircraft crashed.

On the same day, CNN denied the information about the destruction of the plane. According to media reports, the aircraft landed safely. The pilot is in stable condition. It is noted that this is the first such case since the beginning of the conflict, when, allegedly, the Iranian side attacked an American plane.
