The Ministry for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic plans to expand the cinema support system in the region. This was announced on March 5 by the head of the department Alexey Chekunkov.

"We will expand the support system for Far Eastern cinema so that films about the Far East are shot in the Far East," he said at the award ceremony of the All—Russian travel competition at the Rossiya National Center.

Chekunkov noted that a tax refund program for film producers is already in effect in five regions of the Far East. In addition, Yakutia has a system of regional grants for the implementation of projects in the field of cinema.
