The UK has opened a case on calls for activity against the Russian Federation in relation to the blogger Naki

The Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia has opened a criminal case against blogger Michael Naki (recognized as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation). This was announced on March 4 at the headquarters of the Moscow department.

"A criminal case has been opened against blogger Michael Naki," the agency said in a statement on its Telegram channel.

According to the Investigative Committee, the blogger is charged under Part 2 of Article 280.4 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Public calls for activities directed against the security of the Russian Federation").

According to investigators, no later than May 2024, Naki posted a video on his channel containing such appeals. An international search and arrest of the blogger is currently being considered, as well as investigative actions are being carried out to collect evidence.

In August 2023, the Basmanny Court reported that Naki had been sentenced in absentia to 11 years in a penal colony in the case of fakes about the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. He was also banned from managing Internet resources for five years.
