Skier Savely Korostelev, a participant in the 2026 Olympic Games in Italy, will compete at the World Championships among athletes under the age of 23 in Norway. This was announced to TASS on March 2 by Egor Sorin, the head coach of the Russian national team.
"Yes, Savely will compete at the Under-23 World Cup. We will make the decision that he will run after the fact," Sorin said.
22-year-old Korostelev will start at the championship, which will be held in Norway from March 2 to March 8. At the Olympics in Italy, his best result was fourth place in skiathlon.
On Saturday, February 28, Russian skier Savely Korostelev failed to qualify for the sprint skate style at the eighth stage of the World Cup in Falun, Sweden. The best result was shown by Norwegian Johannes Klebo (2 minutes 33.9 seconds), ahead of Korostelev by 10.88 seconds.
