Kazan hockey club (HC) Ak Bars on Sunday, March 1, defeated Chelyabinsk Traktor in a guest match of the KHL championship with a score of 1:0.

The only goal was scored by Alexander Barabanov, who scored the most goals in the third period. He was assisted by Kirill Semenov and Alexey Pustozerov.

Ak Bars secured the start of the playoffs on home ice after the defeat of Salavat Yulaev by Admiral (2:4). The Kazan team is in third place in the Eastern Conference standings with 84 points after 61 matches. Traktor (63 points in 60 games) is on the sixth line, reports Sport-Express.

Kazan will face Lada on the road on March 3, and the Chelyabinsk team will play Torpedo the next day.
