The Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran have defeated 14 US military bases located in the Middle East. This was reported on February 28 by the Tansim news agency, citing an unnamed military source.

"Iran's retaliatory attacks continue <...> 14 American bases have already become Iran's target," he is quoted as saying in the article.

It also notes that other US military facilities may become targets of subsequent operations, which will be carried out using Iranian missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

US President Donald Trump has confirmed that his country has launched a large-scale military operation against Iran, from where the US Secretary of State called on his fellow citizens to leave on the night of February 28. Later, the same notification was received by those citizens of the United States who are staying in Lebanon.

As part of the Israeli-American Operation Lion's Roar, which used the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln and dozens of Tomahawk cruise missiles, military installations in western Iran, the residence of the country's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, as well as an elementary school in the city of Minab were hit.

Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the situation around Iran with the permanent members of the Russian Security Council. The meeting, the details of which were not disclosed, as specified by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, was held in a videoconference format. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation stated that Russia demands to immediately return the situation around Iran to a political and diplomatic settlement.
