Finland is investigating the intrusion of an outsider on board a flight to New York.
The Finnish airline Finnair's flight from Helsinki Airport to New York had to be delayed for several hours after an extra person was found on board, the Helsingin Sanomat newspaper reported on February 27.
The incident occurred the day before, on February 26. Finnair flight AY015, scheduled to depart for New York at 16:50 local time (17:50 Moscow time). However, when boarding was already over, there was an extra unaccounted-for passenger on the plane. The stowaway had to be taken out with the involvement of police on transport.
At the same time, for security reasons, the airline staff decided to double-check the documents of all passengers, for which they were asked to leave the aircraft. As a result, the plane left for its destination only four hours later, at 20:51 (21:51 Moscow time).
The police are investigating the incident, finding out how an extra person could get into the territory at the boarding gate.
The British newspaper The Sun reported on February 13 that Jet2 had banned two rowdy passengers for life after a fight on board an Antalya —Manchester flight. According to media reports, one of the passengers, who was drunk, began to behave aggressively and insult others. Later, another passenger hit him for insulting him. As a result, the plane was forced to land urgently in Brussels.
