- Ukrainian media reported on the problems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine due to the high-water season
The militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) found themselves in a difficult situation against the background of the beginning of the high-water season in the country. This was reported on February 26 by the Ukrainian newspaper Strana.ua.
With the onset of warming and the melting of snow, the water level in the rivers has already increased by 0.6–3.5 m, which has led to flooding of some territories, outbuildings and private homes. Meteorologists warn that this is just the beginning of floods that could engulf most of Ukraine, and in some areas turn into a real disaster.
"Spring floods can be a real challenge for urban infrastructure. <...> "Big Water" also worsens conditions on the front line," the Telegram channel says.
Videos of flooded dugouts where soldiers are forced to live in water are already appearing on social networks. This could have an impact on the fighting along the entire front line, the newspaper writes.
On February 17, prisoners of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that the Ukrainian militants who were on the eastern bank of the Oskol River south of Kupyansk-Uzlovoye found themselves in difficult conditions due to a lack of supplies and the difficult situation on the contact line. They reported significant sanitary losses due to hypothermia and frostbite. In addition, Ukrainian militants are forced to be housed in unheated dugouts and trenches, partially flooded with water and mud, without adequate heating and hot meals.
