The UK is deliberately obstructing the peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. This was announced on February 26 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

"The British continue to show an active interest in preserving the source of instability in our region. They are doing everything they can to prevent a long—term and sustainable settlement of the crisis," she said at a briefing.

According to her, the deployment of British troops in Ukraine will not mean the end of the conflict, but its prolongation and an increase in the risks of a large-scale military clash involving more states. Zakharova also stressed that in the event of a military intervention in Ukraine, foreign troops would become a legitimate military target for Russia.
