The strongest solar flare has occurred since the anomalous release of energy in early February. This was announced on February 25 at the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy at the Institute of Space Research (IKI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

"Solar activity continues to recover fairly quickly after a dip in the middle of the month. It has just reached the M-flashes — right now there is an M2.4 event in a new area in the south. At the same time, the group of spots still remains without a number," the researchers' Telegram channel says.

It is noted that more than 10 outbreaks occurred during the day. Scientists specify that the surge in activity began after the failure in mid-February. However, the current event is not comparable to the solar storm at the beginning of the month, when there were six outbreaks of the highest class X.

There is no threat to the Earth yet, since the area of activity is located on the edge of the Sun, the IKI RAS concluded.
