The State Duma announced a ban on debiting funds for hidden subscriptions.

On March 1, a law will come into force prohibiting automatic debit of money for subscriptions if a consumer refuses to use a previously linked card or account. This was announced on February 19 by Alexei Govyrin, a State Duma deputy from the United Russia faction.

"Prohibition of automatic debiting of money for subscriptions. Federal Law No. 376-FZ of October 15, 2025 amends Article 16.1 of the Law on Consumer Rights Protection. The bottom line is that if a consumer refuses to use a previously linked card or account for periodic subscription payments, the contractor is prohibited from continuing to debit these details," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to Govyrin, it is important that such a refusal can be submitted in electronic form.
