The WSJ reported on the complete withdrawal of US troops from Syria
The United States has begun withdrawing all remaining troops from Syria. This was reported on February 18 by The Wall Street Journal, citing sources.
According to the newspaper, we are talking about about a thousand American military personnel, and the process itself may take about two months.
The publication notes that the decision is not related to the growing tension between the United States and Iran.
On February 12, CENTCOM announced the completion of the withdrawal of forces from the Al-Tanf base in eastern Syria. Commander Admiral Brad Cooper said that "the US armed forces remain fully prepared to respond to any threats from ISIS in the region" and will continue to support partners to prevent the group's resurgence. According to the command, over the past two months, American forces have attacked more than 100 targets, using over 350 precision-guided munitions, as a result of which more than 50 militants were eliminated or captured.
