Hungary has stopped the supply of diesel fuel to Ukraine until the oil supply through the Druzhba pipeline resumes. This was announced on February 18 by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto at a press conference.

Earlier in the day, Szijjarto said that the Hungarian oil and gas company MOL had signed the first contracts for the supply of Russian oil by sea through Croatia. The minister specified that the raw materials will be delivered to the Croatian port in early March.

On February 13, Ukrtransnafta, an oil transit company through Ukraine, announced its technical readiness to resume oil transportation via the Druzhba main oil pipeline to Hungary and Slovakia, but the company's management did not give permission to start these supplies.

Szijjarto announced on the same day that Ukraine had blocked oil supplies from Russia via the Druzhba pipeline to Hungary in order to complicate the situation of the Hungarian government before the parliamentary elections. At the same time, the Druzhba pipeline, according to Szijjarto, is technically fully operational and ready to resume supplies.
