Swiss national team forward Kevin Fiala has been injured and will no longer play at the Winter Olympics in Italy. This was announced on February 14 on the website of the Swiss Ice Hockey Federation (SIHF).

"The Swiss striker was injured in the second match of the group group against Canada and will miss the rest of the tournament," the publication says.

The injury occurred three minutes before the end of the game. Medical examinations showed damage to the lower leg, which precludes his further participation in the tournament. The Federation wished the athlete a speedy recovery.

On February 13, the Canadian Olympic team defeated the Swiss team in the men's ice hockey tournament at the Olympic Games in Italy with a score of 5:1. As a result, the Canadian national team takes the first place in the Group A table with six points, Switzerland is in second place with three points.
