The UK has filed charges against an ex-judge from Adygea for accepting a bribe of 2.5 million rubles.

Adam Voitlev, an ex-judge of the Shovgenovsky District Court of the Republic of Adygea, was charged with accepting a particularly large bribe. This was reported on February 13 by the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation.

"A criminal case has been opened against Adam Voitlev, a retired judge of the Shovgenovsky District Court of the Republic of Adygea. He was charged with committing a crime under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Receiving a particularly large bribe")," the department's Telegram channel says.

According to investigators, from June 10, 2023 to January 11, 2024, Voitelev, who then headed the district court, received 2.5 million rubles from the defendant through an intermediary. The money was intended for the return of the criminal case to the prosecutor in accordance with Article 237 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation and the lifting of the seizure of property.

Voitelev resigned in October 2025, the Investigative Committee clarified.
