New hotel operating rules will come into force in Russia on March 1.

Starting from March 1, 2026, new rules for booking and checking into hotels will take effect in Russia. The relevant document was published on the official Internet portal of legal information on February 12.

The innovations will unify regulation for all types of accommodation facilities, from hotels and recreation centers to campsites. Now hotels are required to wait for the guest during the day from the moment of scheduled check-in until the check-out time of the next day. The hotel has no right to cancel the reservation before the expiration of this period.
