Deputy of the Kuban Legislative Assembly arrested for fraud for 6.7 million rubles
Anton Averyanov, a deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnodar Territory, was arrested on charges of especially large-scale fraud. This was announced on February 10 by the Joint Press Service of the courts of the region.
"From November 2024 to September 2025, the defendants received monthly funds from their acquaintance, misleading him about their intentions and capabilities to organize and ensure his election as a deputy of the Krasnodar City Duma. The total amount of funds received amounted to 6.7 million rubles," the agency said in a statement on its Telegram channel.
The court granted the request of the investigation and chose a preventive measure against Averyanov in the form of detention until April 8, 2026. His assistant has been placed under house arrest.
It is clarified that both defendants are charged under part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud on an especially large scale"). The investigation is ongoing.
