McDonald's registered a trademark in Russia after leaving the country

The McDonald's fast food restaurant chain, which left the Russian Federation in 2022, has registered a trademark of the same name in Russia. This became known on February 10 from the data of the Rospatent electronic database, which was reviewed by Izvestia.

The application for registration was filed in December 2024, and in 2026 Rospatent decided to register the trademark. According to the documents, the McDonald's trademark will be used to sell food, beverages, as well as toys and tableware in Russia.

Earlier, on April 26, 2025, it became known that McDonald's had filed an application in Russia for registration of the McDonald's trademark, as well as some other branded products. It was noted that the company has also sent patent requests for Big Mac, MacAuto and McFlurry.
