Fraudsters use schemes with fake monthly payment indexing services to steal Russians' data and money. Experts of the Moshelovka platform of the Popular Front warned about this on February 8 in an interview with RIA Novosti.

"A bot or application is advertised on social networks: "Find out how much your single cash payment increased in February." After installation, the malware steals banking application data or introduces spyware modules," they said.

Experts explained that attackers can act through a bot that requests SNILS, INN and card number under the pretext of verifying the right to index. After entering the data, funds are debited or stolen.

It is reported that the target audience of such attacks are pensioners and recipients of social benefits. Experts note that the scheme is relevant in February because of the traditional indexing, which creates an informational occasion and a stir.

Experts recommend checking payment information only through the official Gosuslugi portal, the website of the Social Fund of Russia or its branch, and immediately deleting suspicious applications and checking the device with an antivirus.

On the same day, the press service of the Russian Interior Ministry reported that the provision of social benefits, compensations or benefits is the main scheme used by fraudsters under the guise of social workers. The agency added that the actions of fraudsters in these schemes are aimed at obtaining funds under the guise of necessary contributions, commissions or fines, as well as collecting personal and payment data for further theft.
