The Zheleznodorozhny District Court of Novosibirsk has detained Mikhail Metelkin, director of the Special Chemistry business unit of TVEL JSC, which is part of the fuel division of Rosatom State Corporation. This was announced on February 6 by the press service of the courts of general jurisdiction of the Novosibirsk region on the VKontakte social network.

According to investigators, in the period from July 2020 to April 2022, Metelkin transferred funds totaling about 950 thousand rubles to the Deputy General Director — Commercial Director of PJSC Novosibirsk Chemical Concentrates Plant. It is assumed that the remuneration was intended for speeding up payment under contracts for the supply of raw materials, as well as for its acceptance ahead of schedule.

It is noted that the preventive measure was chosen as part of the investigation of a criminal case on bribing the management of the Novosibirsk Chemical Concentrates Plant under Part 4 of Article 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Large-scale bribery"). The court granted the request of the investigation and decided to detain Metelkin until March 28 of this year.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that in Krasnoyarsk, the former head of the investigative unit of the General Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the region is accused of taking a particularly large bribe. It is noted that the accused is under house arrest. At the request of the investigation, the court seized his property in the amount of more than 19 million rubles.
