The Russian Embassy pointed to the militarization of the Netherlands under the guise of hybrid threats

Under the slogans of countering hybrid threats, large-scale offensive capabilities are actually being legitimized in the Netherlands. This was announced on February 3 at the Russian Embassy in The Hague.

"We proceed from the fact that under the slogans of countering 'hybrid challenges', large-scale offensive capabilities are being legitimized in practice, including in cyberspace, as well as the expansion of espionage activity. We will take these steps into account in our military-political planning," TASS quoted the text of the statement.

It is noted that Moscow will take into account the steps taken by the Netherlands to increase its military and intelligence capabilities. The embassy added that the anti-Russian line after the elections in the country has become systemic in The Hague's politics.

The plans of the new government of the country to expand the powers of the special services and increase military capabilities in the Russian diplomatic mission were called part of a course to strengthen its position in NATO. At the same time, Russia remains open to a pragmatic dialogue.

"For our part, we remain open to a pragmatic and mutually respectful dialogue. At the same time, we believe that the first step should be taken by those who have consistently destroyed the entire range of bilateral ties," the embassy concluded.
