- In 2025, the Ministry of Internal Affairs revealed 13 thousand crimes in the public sector for 154 billion rubles.
In 2025, employees of the economic security and anti-corruption Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia uncovered more than 13 thousand crimes in the public sector, the damage from which exceeded 154 billion rubles. This was announced on February 4 by the head of the GUEBiPK of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Police Lieutenant General Andrei Kurnosenko.
"The number of public sector crimes documented by the territorial divisions of the EBiPK increased by almost 12% in 2025, exceeding the mark of more than 13 thousand crimes," he said in an interview with TASS.
It was noted that most of them, about 80%, were committed on a large and especially large scale. The damage from these crimes amounted to more than 154 billion rubles, which is 20 billion more than last year.
Kurnosenko clarified that the most common schemes include overstating the cost of government contracts, misuse of budget funds, and fraud with social benefits and subsidies. These crimes allow attackers to enrich themselves with funds intended for social programs and infrastructure projects, which harms the most vulnerable segments of the population.
On February 3, Kurnosenko announced the suppression of the activities of an interregional organized group that stole more than 1 billion rubles in compensation payments for technical rehabilitation equipment. It was clarified that the attackers were engaged in the creation of fictitious documents related to the independent purchase of technical rehabilitation equipment for people with disabilities.
