Currently, Russian scientists are working on cancer treatment without chemotherapy. This was announced on February 3 by Gennady Krasnikov, President of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS).

"Great progress is being made in the field of cancer treatment. There are very interesting approaches that make it possible to deal with tumors more effectively without chemotherapy," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

The head of the Russian Academy of Sciences noted that the number of such breakthrough developments is growing.

As an example, he cited a domestic drug for the treatment of Ankylosing spondylitis, created on the basis of a unique scientific platform that allows the development of drugs for the treatment of autoimmune diseases.

Krasnikov also stressed that modern medical achievements contribute not only to increasing life expectancy, but also to maintaining its quality in old age.

Scientists at Perm National Research Polytechnic University (PNRPU) have developed hybrid molecules that independently take on the necessary shape for targeted treatment in cancer therapy. As clarified on February 2, molecular hybrids are single molecules that combine two or more therapeutic actions (for example, attacking a tumor and relieving inflammation).
