The preliminary cause of the crash of a training aircraft in Orsk has been named.

The Central Interregional Investigative Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee of Russia has opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of the rules of traffic safety and operation of air transport by a person who, by virtue of his work or position, is obliged to comply with these rules, which negligently resulted in the death of two or more persons").
The death of three people in a plane crash in Orsk became known earlier that day. It was noted that the incident occurred near the village of Janatalap, and the aircraft, which belongs to the St. Petersburg State University of Civil Aviation, was making a training flight.
The authorities of the Orenburg region expressed their readiness to provide the necessary support to the families of those killed in the plane crash. It was clarified that instructor Vasily Nivaev, born in 1989, cadet Timofey Kurdupov, born in 2005, and cadet Dmitry Sedov, born in 2004, died during the incident.
