A criminal case has been opened against the former CEO of the Rostov manufacturer of ship navigation radar stations Horizon. This was reported on February 2 in the press service of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Rostov region.

It is noted that the entrepreneur is suspected of abuse of authority in the execution of a state defense order, responsibility is provided for under Part 2 of Art. 201.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. According to the FSB, in 2023, the ex-director of the enterprise instructed subordinate employees to overestimate the cost of military products manufactured under the state defense order.

The suspect has admitted his guilt and is cooperating with the investigation. Currently, the criminal investigation is ongoing, and work is underway to establish all the circumstances of the case and possible accomplices.

On January 29, law enforcement officers detained in St. Petersburg the head of the 178th military representation of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Captain 2nd rank Vladimir Nikitin, in a case of receiving a particularly large bribe. A criminal case has been opened against Nikitin under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Receiving a bribe").
