The suburban area requires care all year round, especially in winter, as fires, theft and damage to property are most common at this time. This was announced on January 31 by Nikita Chaplin, deputy of the State Duma and chairman of the Union of Summer Residents of the Moscow region.

Chaplin stressed that the main problems arise from the lack of attention - people visit their dachas less often, heating systems work without proper control, and empty houses become a target for criminals.

First of all, according to the deputy, it is necessary to properly preserve the water supply systems and prepare the heating devices for the next season, if they are not in use, as well as de-energize the electrical network.

In addition, Chaplin noted the importance of property protection. According to him, an area with visible traces of the owners' presence is the best protection against thieves. He also advised to get an alarm system.
