The situation at the Zaporizhia NPP is under reliable control. This was announced on January 30 by Mikhail Ulyanov, Permanent Representative of Russia to International Organizations in Vienna.

He noted that the station is located almost on the line of contact, and attacks are constantly being carried out on the adjacent territories, including the industrial site of the nuclear power plant and Energodar.

"This cannot be called normal, but at the same time, nothing catastrophic is happening today. Experienced people work there who know well how to act in a given situation. And the situation remains under reliable control," Ulyanov stressed, as quoted by RIA Novosti.

He also stressed that the attempt to put pressure on the Russian Federation at the extraordinary Board of Governors of the IAEA had failed. According to Ulyanov, the West continues to adhere to double standards even in such a sensitive issue as nuclear safety, which, in turn, contributes to its political marginalization.

On January 30, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced that he was not ready for compromises and would not give up Donbass and the Zaporizhia NPP "without a fight." According to him, the American side offers a compromise solution in the form of a free economic zone.

On the same day, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia was taking into account the president's statements about his unwillingness to compromise. In addition, he wondered if this meant that the Kiev regime was going to attack the nuclear power plant in order to seize it.
