Rostec will present the new Sarma MLRS at an exhibition in Riyadh
Rostec State Corporation will premiere its new highly mobile multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) Sarma at the international defense and security exhibition World Defense Show 2026, which will be held in Riyadh. This was announced on January 30 by the press service of the corporation.
Rostec State Corporation will for the first time show the latest highly mobile multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) "Sarma." The premiere of the weapons complex will take place at the international defense and security exhibition World Defense Show 2026 in Riyadh as part of the Rosoboronexport exposition (part of Rostec)," the organization's website says.
It is specified that the Sarma MLRS is based on an 8x8 all-wheel drive chassis and is equipped with a 300 mm caliber. The company noted that the complex is capable of effectively hitting various targets, including manpower, artillery, armored vehicles, enemy air defense systems and other military installations.
According to Bekhan Ozdoev, Industrial director of the Rostec cluster of armaments, ammunition and special chemicals, one of the key features of Sarma is its high mobility. According to him, the system is also capable of taking up a firing position in three minutes and leaving it in the same time interval.
The director added that Sarma is equipped with an advanced automated control, guidance and fire system, and can also use both proven rockets and the latest guided missiles for Tornado-S.
Rostec emphasized that the difference between MLRS and its predecessors is that the Sarma has a launcher with six guides instead of 12, which significantly increases mobility while maintaining combat characteristics. It is noted that the combat vehicle is capable of reaching speeds of up to 95 km / h on the highway and has a power reserve of 1 thousand km.
Rostec announced on January 28 that for the first time, the latest Zubr systems were supplied to the Russian Armed Forces to protect infrastructure facilities from drones and barraging ammunition. According to the organization, the Zubr system is capable of independently detecting the drone and taking it for automatic tracking, and the operator will only have to make a decision and give the command to kill.
