Prosecutor's office approves indictment against Khodorkovsky
The Moscow Meshchanskaya interdistrict prosecutor's office has approved an indictment against the former head of Yukos, Mikhail Khodorkovsky (recognized as a foreign agent, included in the list of extremists and terrorists in the Russian Federation). This was reported on January 27 by the press service of the prosecutor's office of the capital.
"It was established that in September 2022 and July 2024, Khodorkovsky, while outside the Russian Federation, posted publications on his personal page on one of the social networks containing deliberately false information about the actions of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation," the department's Telegram channel reported.
Khodorkovsky is charged under clauses "c, d" of Part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Public dissemination of deliberately false information about the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation"). The criminal case has been sent to the court for consideration on the merits in a general manner. Since the accused is wanted, the trial will take place in his absence.
In October 2025, the FSB of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case against Khodorkovsky and 22 members of the Anti-War Committee of Russia (AKR, recognized as an undesirable organization in the territory of the Russian Federation). It was clarified that the movement was established in February 2022. His goals are to forcibly seize power and change the constitutional order in Russia.
