Municipal services in Moscow have begun to eliminate the consequences of a new heavy snowfall that covered the capital on the night of January 27. Izvestia publishes footage of the cleaning.

Special equipment was brought to the highways of the capital to clear snow from the tracks: columns of excavators and KAMAZ trucks were on the roads. Special equipment is also involved in cleaning pedestrian areas. So, on the streets of the center of Moscow, mobile snow blowers run right along the sidewalks.

In addition, employees of public utilities are also involved in cleaning the streets. The day before, the metropolitan Department of Housing and Communal Services announced in its Telegram channel that they were working on high alert and monitoring the situation on the streets and roads of the city. If necessary, deicing treatment will be carried out on sidewalks and carriageways.

In the coming days, the capital region will be on the southern periphery of the anticyclone.

Earlier in the day, the press service of Pobeda Airlines announced the delay of flight services and the transfer of services to an enhanced mode of operation due to snowfall in the capital. Sheremetyevo Airport has temporarily restricted the reception of flights until 12:00 Moscow time. Nevertheless, Vnukovo reported regular work against the background of snowfall. At the same time, traffic jams on the streets of Moscow reached nine points on the morning of January 27.

Representatives of the Main Directorate (GU) of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation in Moscow and the Moscow region warned a day earlier that heavy snow, blizzard and ice could be recorded from January 27 to January 29. Later, the press service of the Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development of the capital urged motorists to abandon trips by private transport on January 27 and 28 due to heavy snowfall.

On January 26, Roscosmos published a picture of a snow cyclone approaching Moscow. The photo, as specified, was taken using the Electro-L and Arctic-M satellites.
