The Ministry of Transport and the Federal Air Transport Agency have increased monitoring of Russian air transport

The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation and the Federal Air Transport Agency have stepped up monitoring of domestic air transport amid a malfunction in the Leonardo reservation system. This was announced on January 26 by the press services of both departments.

"Specialists from both departments, together with airlines and airports, are working to minimize the impact of the difficulties encountered in the Leonardo booking system on the flight schedule," the Ministry of Transport and the Federal Air Transport Agency said in a statement.

It is noted that, where possible, a manual way of registering citizens for flights is carried out, as well as other measures are being taken to respond to the situation.

On the same day, Aeroflot temporarily restricted passenger and baggage check-in, as well as ticket processing, reissue and refund operations due to a malfunction in the Leonardo booking system (Sirena Travel). In addition, the provision of additional services in all the airline's sales channels, including the website, contact center and agency networks, has been suspended. In this regard, adjustments are possible in the schedule.
