On January 25, Russian skier Daria Nepryaeva took eighth place in the classic mass start at the seventh stage of the World Cup, which takes place in Goms, Switzerland.

At a distance of 20 km, the athlete showed a time of 56 minutes 41.1 seconds and lost to the winner, representative of Finland Johanna Matintalo — 47.2 seconds. American Jessica Diggins finished second, 0.9 seconds behind, while Norwegian Astrid Slind finished third, losing 1.7 seconds to the leader.

The next, eighth stage of the World Cup is scheduled for the period from February 28 to March 1 and will be held in Falun, Sweden.

On January 24, for the first time this season, Nepryaeva managed to overcome the qualifying stage and qualify for the sprint classic style races at the World Cup. In the women's qualification, Sweden's Lynn Swan showed the best time, covering the distance in 3 minutes 46.07 seconds.
