Maxim Oreshkin, deputy head of the Russian presidential administration, said that $1 billion of assets blocked in the United States still belongs to Russia, and when unblocked, the Russian Federation will order the use of these funds. He said this on January 25 in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin.
"$1 billion belongs to the Russian Federation, and we will give an order on how we consider it right to use it," he said. A fragment of the interview was published on the journalist's Telegram channel.
