20-degree frosts returned to Moscow after a break. This was announced on January 23 by Mikhail Leus, a leading specialist at the Phobos Weather Center.

"After a short break, 20-degree frosts returned to the capital region for the first time since the beginning of this week," he wrote on the Telegram channel.

According to him, on the night of January 23, the temperature in the capital dropped to -10.9 degrees. He added that on Saturday the night minimum in the capital may reach -20 degrees, and in the Moscow region the temperature will drop to -25 degrees.

The forecaster also warned that the peak of the cold will be on Sunday, January 25, when the temperature in the capital will drop to -22 degrees at night, and the temperature in the region may reach up to -28 degrees.

Leus summed up that frosts are forecast to recede on Monday, and the cyclone will cover the sky with clouds and bring light snow.

Earlier that day, the Hydrometeorological Center reported that the air temperature in Moscow on January 23 in the afternoon would range from -9 to -11 degrees. At night, the thermometer will drop to -21. An easterly wind with a speed of 3-8 m/s is expected.
