On January 21, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin instructed Rosatom to increase its unique competencies in order to achieve the country's technological sovereignty.

According to him, it is also important for the development of regions and qualitative changes in people's lives. Mishustin noted that such tasks can be solved only if there is a stable and efficient supply of electricity, which is the basis for the successful operation of all strategically important industries.

"Despite the general negative phenomena in the global economy and macroeconomic challenges, I want to report to you that all the goals for government assignments and plans of the state corporation in 2025 have been fulfilled," said Alexey Likhachev, head of the Rosatom State Corporation, during a meeting with Mishustin.

He also noted that nuclear and non-nuclear state defense orders are 100% fulfilled.

In addition, the head of Rosatom said that, despite external pressure, the state corporation would exceed targets for foreign orders and revenue in 2025. The state corporation's electricity generation this year will also exceed the planned volumes by 2.5 billion kWh.

Likhachev also said that Rosatom has achieved one hundred percent import independence for critical infrastructure and uses 80% of domestic software in all projects.

On January 11, Belarusian Energy Minister Denis Moroz announced Belarus' intention in 2026 to prepare a framework agreement with the state corporation Rosatom for the construction of the third power unit of the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant (NPP), as well as to conclude an intergovernmental agreement with Russia.
