Direct flights between St. Petersburg and Morocco have been opened
The first ever direct flight from Casablanca (Morocco) to St. Petersburg landed at Pulkovo Airport at 07:00 Moscow time on January 21, with the return flight scheduled for 08:05.
Before the arrival of the first flight, the opening ceremony of the new destination took place at St. Petersburg Airport. It was attended by Asiyat Khalvashi, Director of Aviation Commerce at Pulkovo Airport, Evgeny Pankevich, Chairman of the St. Petersburg Tourism Development Committee, Nizam Mamishev, Deputy Chairman of the city's External Relations Committee, and Dmitry Vanchkov, Acting Chairman of the city's Transport Committee.
"Everyone wants to go to Casablanca in their hearts, everyone knows it. We were able to arrange direct flights. I think this direction will be in demand, three flights a week will be filled easily," Khalvashi told TASS.
According to her, the price of tickets varies from 15 to 20 thousand rubles for an almost six-hour flight.
On December 24, Brazilian Ambassador to Moscow Sergio Rodriguez dos Santos announced that Russia and Brazil may soon resume direct flights between the countries if demand from Russian tourists continues to grow. According to the ambassador, direct flights previously existed, but were canceled due to insufficient demand.
