The Catalan Civil Defense Service has confirmed the death of one person in a train accident in the municipality of Zelida. According to doctors, 37 people were injured. This was announced on January 21 by the civil defense service of the region in the social network X.

"The death of one person has been confirmed; the ambulance system informs that it has provided assistance to 37 victims: five in serious condition; six in less serious condition; 26 in mild condition," the report says.

According to the police, the train driver turned out to be dead. A security zone has been set up at the scene, emergency services are strengthening the retaining wall and continuing their work.

Earlier, on January 18, it was reported that in the Spanish province of Cordoba, at least two people were killed and several others were injured when two trains derailed.
