Leonid Slutsky, head of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, has taken the initiative to create socially significant public transport routes throughout Russia that will connect settlements with hospitals, schools, multifunctional centers and other important facilities.

"The Liberal Democratic Party proposes to introduce socially significant public transport routes that will connect several municipalities with each other and take people to hospitals, MFCs, schools and other vital facilities," he told TASS.

It is assumed that such routes will connect several municipalities, operate on a regular basis at least four times a day and provide transportation from early morning to late evening at an affordable cost and an understandable schedule.

Slutsky noted that residents of small towns and rural areas often face difficulties in obtaining medical care and paperwork due to the lack of stable transport links. According to LDPR monitoring data, the majority of rural residents negatively assess the operation of public transport, and in some localities it is completely absent. At the same time, the cost of travel there is often significantly higher than in large cities.

According to Slutsky, the introduction of social routes will simplify citizens' access to vital services and will provide additional support for small settlements.

"Russia is indeed bigger than Moscow, and this should be reinforced not by slogans, but by concrete decisions," he said.
