Politico reported on the shift of the topic of Ukraine in Davos due to Greenland
The topic of Ukraine at the annual session of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos may fade into the background due to the discussion of the situation around Greenland. This was reported by the Politico newspaper.
According to the newspaper, European countries initially expected to focus on the prospects for peace talks on Ukraine. However, it is expected that the main topic of discussion will be statements by US President Donald Trump about the possible acquisition of Greenland.
The article notes that European politicians view the current situation as the most serious crisis in transatlantic relations in recent decades. In this regard, the forum participants intend to use the WEF platform to try to convince the American leader to abandon steps that, according to Europe, may negatively affect the unity of NATO.
Politico's sources among European officials also reported that within the framework of the Davos forum, Trump plans to hold at least one face-to-face meeting with representatives of the leadership of the European Union and NATO. At the same time, the exact dates of the negotiations have not yet been determined.
