Bloomberg reported on Kiev's suspension of UAV orders from Helsing

Ukraine has temporarily refused to place additional orders for drones from the German company Helsing after problems were identified during their combat testing. This was reported on January 19 by Bloomberg, citing a report by the German Ministry of Defense and knowledgeable sources.

"Ukraine is postponing additional orders for attack drones from Helsing, Europe's most valuable defense technology startup, after the company's weapon systems encountered problems in advanced combat testing," the publication says.

We are talking about drones of the HX-2 model, which the company positions as a key strike vehicle. According to the agency, during tests conducted by the 14th Ukrainian regiment of unmanned systems, the drones encountered difficulties during takeoff.

The material also indicates that the version of the device lacked certain declared elements, including artificial intelligence-based tools designed for control. This, as noted, led to the vulnerability of the communication channel between the operator and the drone to the effects of electronic warfare.

According to Bloomberg, the identified shortcomings have affected interest in these drones, which are funded by German military programs. In this regard, Germany does not plan to place a repeat order until a corresponding request from Ukraine appears.

Helsing told the agency that they had no information about the existence of the mentioned report. The German Ministry of Defense, in turn, reported that the department's leadership had not reviewed or approved this report, Bloomberg writes.
