China-Ukraine trade turnover decreased by 2.6% in 2025%
The trade turnover between China and Ukraine in 2025 decreased by 2.6% compared to the previous year and amounted to $7.78 billion. This was announced on January 18 by the General Customs Administration (GTU) of the People's Republic of China.
"Exports from China to Ukraine increased by 36.1% to $5.04 billion during the reporting period. However, supplies of Ukrainian goods to China decreased by 36%, to $2.74 billion," TASS quoted the agency as saying.
According to the GTU, as a result, China's trade surplus with Ukraine reached $2.3 billion, while in 2024 the Ukrainian side had a surplus of $586.4 million.
In December, the volume of bilateral trade increased by 10.9% compared to November to $741.9 million, while Chinese exports decreased slightly and imports from Ukraine increased by 42.6%.
On January 3, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree imposing sanctions against 70 companies registered in Russia, China and the Virgin Islands. The restrictions include 60 companies with Russian registration, nine with Chinese registration and one with registration in the Virgin Islands.
