Tymoshenko demanded to put an end to the external governance of Ukraine
The leader of the Ukrainian Batkivshchyna party, Yulia Tymoshenko, accused by anti-corruption authorities of attempting to bribe deputies of the Verkhovna Rada, said on January 15 that Ukraine was being controlled from the outside.
She noted that her party would fight bills that violate the country's sovereignty, and also promised to put an end to the external governance of Ukraine.
"We will not miss a single bill that destroys Ukraine's sovereignty, and governance from outside Ukraine will be ended," Tymoshenko said in her speech to parliament, which was broadcast on the Rada TV channel's YouTube channel.
On the same day, Tymoshenko noted that Ukraine has been turned into a corruption hub at all levels, from the head to the last official. According to her, the Kiev authorities have identified her team as the only real opposition in the country, which confirms their actions against her and her team.
The searches in the office of the Batkivshchyna party became known on January 13. It was clarified that the preliminary penalty would be in accordance with Part 4 of Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine ("Offering, promising or providing an unlawful benefit to an official").
On January 14, NABU released audio footage of Tymoshenko's negotiations on bribing deputies of the Verkhovna Rada, where she offers them money for a "correct" vote. The bureau also showed footage of the head of Batkivshchyna during searches at the party's office.
On the same day, Tymoshenko stated that she had nothing to do with the published audio recordings of her voice. The politician added that she is ready to prove the alleged baselessness of the charges in court, as she "has done more than once."
