The European Parliament (EP) faction "Patriots of Europe" intends to initiate another vote of no confidence in the head of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von der Leyen. This was reported by the Politico newspaper on January 14, citing sources.

Patriots for Europe will submit a new resolution on a vote of no confidence in the head of the European Commission," the article says.

According to the newspaper, the initiative has already become the fourth in a row in relation to the head of the EC for a period of seven months. It is expected that the discussion of the proposal will take place on January 19, and the vote itself is scheduled for January 22.

In June last year, more than 70 MEPs supported the initiative to vote no confidence in von der Leyen in the case of the concealment of information about contracts for the purchase of vaccines against COVID-19. Shortly after, MEPs rejected both resolutions of no confidence in von der Leyen. Later, in September of the same year, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban called on the head of the European Commission to leave his post.
