The head of the musical department of the State Academic Central Puppet Theater named after Sergei Vladimirovich Obraztsov, composer Nikolai Shamshin died at the age of 52. This was announced on January 13 in the press service of the theater.

"On January 13, Nikolai Evgenievich Shamshin, the head of the musical department of our theater, died at the age of 52. A wonderful person, a true professional, a gifted composer and arranger, a great musician," the Telegram channel says.

It is noted that with Shamshin's participation, the orchestra of the institution was restored, the scores of the performances were recreated, and new soundtracks for the productions were recorded. His musical style combined the traditions of classical music and elements of jazz.

Shamshin played bass guitar and double bass in the orchestra of the theater. His music was performed in dozens of projects of the Obraztsov Theater, including the performances "The Old Gentleman and ...", "The Ugly Duckling", "The New Time of the Obraztsov Theater", the performance "August of Hiroshima, the Ashes of Nagasaki", as well as at the closing ceremony of the Obraztsov International Festival.
