- The Russian Embassy in Thailand advised tourists to take out insurance for $ 100 thousand.
Russian tourists should apply for extended medical insurance with coverage of at least $100,000 before traveling to Thailand. This was announced on January 13 by the Russian Embassy in the kingdom.
"In connection with incidents involving Russian tourists, which resulted in deaths, among other things, the Russian Embassy in Thailand once again draws attention to the importance of obtaining extended medical insurance before a tourist trip to the Kingdom, preferably with coverage of at least $ 100,000," the diplomatic mission's Telegram channel says.
The diplomats stressed that the policy allows them to receive medical care promptly, cover the costs of treatment or emergency evacuation, and reduce financial risks. The Embassy recommends that you take out insurance for the entire duration of your stay, check the coverage of active recreation and always have the contacts of the insurance company with you.
On January 11, a boat collided with a fishing vessel on the Thai island of Phuket, resulting in the death of a Russian citizen. Some of the injured were taken by the Zhemchuzhina vessel to the Chalong pier. The Governor of Phuket, the tourist police, emergency services, the coast guard and volunteers worked at the site.
Later it was reported that 23 Russian citizens were hospitalized as a result of a collision between a tourist boat and a fishing vessel. According to the Consul General of the Russian Federation in Phuket, Egor Ivanov, there were a total of 33 Russians on the boat, as well as citizens of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and other countries.
