Canadian Gerard Galland has left the position of head coach of HC Shanghai Dragons
Canadian Gerard Galland has left the position of head coach of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) hockey club Shanghai Dragons for health reasons. This was announced on January 13 by the club's press service.
"After consulting with the team's doctor and the club's management, Shanghai Dragons head coach Gerard Galland has decided to leave his post and focus on fully restoring his health," the club's Telegram channel says.
According to the press service, Gallan's condition has improved. As the coach himself noted, recently his health did not allow him to fully perform his professional duties, so it was decided to leave the post.
It is specified that Mike Kelly was appointed the head coach of HC. Gallan took over the Shanghai Dragons last summer. After 43 regular season matches, the club was able to score 43 points and take 9th place in the Western Conference table, with 17 wins and 26 losses.
At the end of December last year, Dynamo Women's football club announced the departure of head coach Alexander Katasonov due to the completion of his contract. It was noted that the coaching staff also left the club along with the specialist.
