Finland warned Britain about the consequences of the decision against the Russian Federation

Britain's development of long-range missiles for Ukraine could bring the world closer to nuclear war. This was announced on January 13 by Armando Mema, a member of the Finnish national Conservative Freedom Alliance party.

"The British government has developed a plan to create long-range missiles for Ukraine (500 km) <...>. We are approaching a nuclear war if the long—range missile program is implemented," he wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

According to the politician, such actions by the UK will lead to serious security consequences. In addition, Mema added that London is preventing a peaceful settlement of the conflict.

All on defense: Europe wants to arm itself against Russia

The Daily Mail newspaper reported on January 11 that the UK intends to transfer Nightfall missiles to Ukraine, which are still under development. According to the newspaper, the British Ministry of Defense is looking for companies that can engage in such development. According to the project, the range of the new projectiles can be 300 miles (approximately 482 km), and the warhead of such a missile can weigh 200 kg.

During a visit to Kiev on January 9, British Defense Minister John Healy announced that London had allocated 200 million pounds ($268 million) in 2026 to finance preparations for the possible deployment of international forces in Ukraine.
