In the Kaluga region, an elderly man died after being burned while taking a shower due to a sudden burst of boiling water. This was announced on January 12 by the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation.

"In Obninsk, an elderly man received burns while taking a shower. Instead of warm water, boiling water suddenly began to flow. Some time later, the victim died," the agency said in a message on its Telegram channel.

It is noted that the management company denies its guilt in the incident.

A criminal case was initiated under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Provision of services that do not meet safety requirements").

On January 2, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) reported that five people, including three children, died as a result of a fire in a private house in the village of Suntar in Yakutia. It is specified that the fire area was 24 sq. m.
