Air defense systems shot down more than 50 drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a day

Over the past day, Russian air defense systems have destroyed 52 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the aircraft type of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), as well as a number of other aerial targets. This was announced on January 12 by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

"Air defense systems shot down five guided aerial bombs, four US—made HIMARS multiple rocket launchers and 52 aircraft-type UAVs," the ministry said in a statement.

The Ministry of Defense clarified that the destruction of targets was carried out during the repulse of attacks on targets in Russia.

Another 50 people were injured, 6 of them are in serious condition.

Also, during the past night, the air defense forces destroyed 13 Ukrainian drones over the regions of the Russian Federation. In particular, four drones were destroyed over the territory of the Rostov Region, two each over the republics of Crimea and Adygea, as well as over the Kursk Region and the Black Sea, and one over the Voronezh Region. Six more air defense drones were eliminated in the morning over the territory of the Rostov region.
