The ambassadors of Germany, Great Britain and France were summoned to the Iranian Foreign Ministry amid mass riots in the country. This was reported by Tasnim news agency on January 12.

"The Iranian Foreign Ministry has summoned the ambassadors of the countries that have publicly expressed support for the protests and riots in the republic, as well as their participants," the publication says.

At the same time, the leadership of the republic asked the ambassadors to transmit video materials from the protests to the foreign ministers of these countries, and Iran also demanded that the official statements of the states that responded in support of the protesters be withdrawn.

Earlier in the day, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said at a meeting with ambassadors of other countries that the Iranian authorities had taken control of the situation with protests in the country. According to him, the demonstrations were "instigated and incited" by foreign elements, and security forces will "hunt down" those responsible.

At the same time, the death toll from the protests in Iran rose to 538, including 490 protesters and 48 security personnel. It is noted that more than 10.6 thousand people were arrested during the protests.
